Arrochar Gaelic Language & Culture Society (AGLCS) has been doubly lucky... and, honoured to have a fantastic and passionate ambassador of our Gaelic language and culture become our patron, Joy Dunlop.
Joy has also kindly agreed to perform in this, our inaugural Music Festival. Thank you.

We would like to thank Professor Josh Dickson, the Head of Traditional Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland who kindly passed on our invitation to his students to come along and showcase what is the amazing new talent that is coming through this esteemed organisation.
We are delighted that a number of new acts from the RCS are taking part in this year's festival. We will extend this invitation every year going forward.
Many of these young performers will become Scotland's leading artists of tomorrow and it will be such an honour if their first and early performances are with us... and, just may be, we might call on them in the future to come back and help us.

As well as showcasing those coming through RCS, we want to hear from and, involve anyone from inside our community and surrounding area. So, if you want to perform, be a storyteller for a day, run a craft skills workshop, whatever at your Festival... please get in touch. We will see what we can do.
We are a community group. You will find our aims set out on our website. These are to help strengthen and promote the use of Gaelic language in our community and further afield and demonstrate how it is integral part of Scottish life and culture.
It is not just our rich tapestry of crafts, arts, music, rituals, customs, food, song, language, values and beliefs that are important to our identity and want to share. There is an opportunity for communities like ours to benefit from the unsung value of our Gaelic Economy. This project, while celebrating our language and culture, brings people into our area and supports the local economy. It also provides value, entertainment and pleasure to our visitors and audience attending our events.
Recently, we heard how the local community of residents and volunteers in Cairndow rallied together to renovate and save the 18th-century Stagecoach Inn on the banks of Loch Fyne. It is an incredible story. Communities like this are so important. We are delighted, the Stagecoach Inn has joined us this year and are hosting a number of events and being part of our Festival. Do check it out, it looks like a fantastic place to stay for the Festival.
